PLYWOOD FLOORS
I just discovered it today. It is absolutely beautiful BUT a lot of work!! Stomach Formula [made from aloe vera gel]. You definitely serve as an inspiration! Generally, salty and sugary foods are to be avoided. Thank you so much! Then you purchase more of their products to help you loose the weight gain, and the circle continues.

They are capitalizing on their name, brand, and goodwill with people who are trying to be healthy. That trust from the consumers should be respected, not traded in for dollars. Some of their products help people stay fat. Then you purchase more of their products to help you loose the weight gain, and the circle continues. Still want to defend weight watchers because only some of their products are bad?

What makes them different from Monsanto, or Kraft? One drop of poison infects the entire water supply. I agree, that is the reason I just quit WW. People left with armloads. Carol, after tons of research, I have come to the same conclusion as you did. You put it perfectly! I joined WW two months ago and have lost over 15 pounds….

WW has taught me to portion and make healthy food choices. They have a database full of recipes, and have not once suggested I eat Smart Ones.

I think it is more important to clean our bodies of the chemicals and other not so friendly toxins in our food and stick as closely to real food as possible so that while we are trying to lose weight we can also get healthy. I have been eating organic now for a while and have noticed a world of difference in my health and my weight. Thank you Vani for all of your help.

Vani did not say Weight Watchers was evil and trying to kill everyone. She invites consumers to read the ingredient label and investigate. I agree not everyone wants to substitute cheesey comfort food for quinoa salad. But Vani is a health food advocate and these WW ingredients are simply not Healthy. If you go to the market and look for canned pineapple or applesause you will find just the fruit and real sugar but not the processed bad preservatives.

Plenty of receipes on line for kosher cooking. I am most curious though as to why start with Weight Watchers? I totally agree their prepackaged and frozen food is chemical laden. Weight Watchers needs to address that and improve their ingredients. But maybe frozen and packaged foods is the only hope someone has to lose the weight and learn fresh cooking in the meantime.

The program DOES promote healthy eating and cooking fresh and local. They also have a vegetarian program. The Leaders are totally motivational and leave you with a feeling that you can lose the weight for good and maintain it for the rest of your life. The leaflets they pass out at each meeting are full of healthy recipes, and fitness tips for getting you through the week until the next meeting. Weighing in at each meeting is so powerful and gets you through the week to the next meeting.

Please address these facts in an apology to the program. I know this is way off topic, but I had a question. I am considering trying out homemade deodorant and saw that most of the recipes I could find had cornstarch or arrowroot. Then I saw online that arrowroot is supposedly bad, especially for pregnant women. Do you know if arrowroot really is bad?

Also, is cornstarch bad? Weight Watchers did NOT cause you to have your gallbladder removed, that is absolutely insane. I had my gallbladder removed as well, I know the pain you speak of.

Yeah I know its simply not fashionable to actually eat less and buy less of your sponsors food products but if you actually went on a crusade to teach to eat healthier and eat right sized meals you would stand a chance of actually making a difference in peoples lives. Teach that person what an actual portion size LOOKS like for all the things they EAT, tech them that they should not diet but rather change their overeating lifestyle to eat right sized meal and it far less than they think.

Teach people to teach themselves to learn about food… Its not so sexy and does not get you sponsor kickbacks quite the same, but if you found 20 or people to take a 12 month learn and reduce challenge you would see amazing differences. Shut the front door! I have done weight watchers for years and lost lbs!

All of my weight loss has been a LIE. My mom paid for the program and lost about 45 lbs in 4 months. I am on it right now and have lost about 16 lbs in 5 weeks. This is what I eat: Tuna or chicken for lunch, a protein bar I prefer the Zone bars and chicken or fish for dinner. The first 3 days are only protein and veggies no carrots, corn, or peas. Very simple diet to follow. My husband has lost 20 lbs in 5 weeks. My mom started this diet a few years ago and lost 45 lbs in about 4 months.

The first place you lose it is your stomach which is great but you must follow the program which is fairly simple. My husband and I have been doing the diet for about 5 weeks. I have lost 16 lbs and my husband has lost 20 lbs. My mom gave me the diet plan. I ate 2 boiled eggs and 1 orange for breakfast. I felt satisfied and lost 5 lbs the first 3 days. After that I added in one starch per day and a protein bar I prefer the Zone bars-which a counselor told my mom is the same thing as their bars.

You are not suppose to eat cheese but my husband and I will sometimes eat string cheese as an afternoon snack. I probably could of lost more over these 5 weeks but I drink beer on the weekends.

It is a simple plan to follow and it does work. My stomach is flatter now than before I had my daughter in February. The 3 day prep is. You can also have as much Kraft Fat Free dressing as you want to go with your vegetables and to put on your meat as well. You are basically doing the Atkins diet during your prep phase. Also make sure you drink plenty of water oz a day.

You pee your fat out, that is why it is so important to drink water. I cannot afford the program. I have tried pretty much everything out there with no success. I visited with a slim4 life an program is way too expensive for me. And also the 3 day prep diet. I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much! Hey Rose, Would it be possible for you to share the list and prep with me? I would greatly appreciate your help! Could someone please send me the list of foods.

I truly want to lose weight but need a quick start for now. I would appreciate it so much, I am getting married in July and really need to lose about 20 pounds. Try Somersizing- you could drop 20 effortlessly — kindof the same as Slim4life with more choices and variety — can get the book at a bookstore — even the used bookstores have it.

You can cook at home or eat out. Did they check all the galbladder ducts? If you have a stone in one of the bile ducts it can cause extreme pain.

I agree it did sound like gallbladder because when you lose fat at a high rate of speed it gets all clogged up in the gallblader ausing stones. This happened to me and I had mine out also. Yes the same happened to me after being on their plan. I just started the plan and had the same severe pain after taking the first day of pills. My friend had similar problems, she got really sick several times. They also thought she had something wrong with her gallbladder. I joined the Slim4Life program in the spring of I lost 70 pounds quickly and was so happy buying new clothes, etc, wanted to lose pounds more.

Then I started having regular diarrhea at times uncontrollable and excessive gas and could not find relief. She suggested I see my doctor. Finally had to stop program because of stomach problems.

Was prescribed 2 antibiotics and problems ceased….. Problems recurred every months. Antibiotics are not helping the same way they had the first time. Tested for gallstones…still seeing the gastroenterologist.. Gas returned in January after only 1 month after antibiotics — so severe that it affects my daily life and routines.

Discovered the Acid-Alkaline balance diet and am trying to eat high alkaline foods — helps somewhat. Tried Imodium for 2 days this week and gas has been reduced to normal. Today is the most normal day since January I empathize with those that have had these side effects; and would love to hear from those with similar experiences.

Antibiotics not only kill bad bacteria, they also kill good bacteria. Add two things [neither of which can possibly harm you]: Stomach Formula [made from aloe vera gel].

In regards to the gall bladder and stomach issues. I had to have my gall bladder removed, too. Started having pain in my side and back under my ribs. I also had stomach issues and diarrhea. I started our weighing pounds and got down to I felt so much better with the weight off but the gall bladder issue made me not feel well about the program.

I asked one of the counselors about it and she acted funny and would not talk about it … It has been several years now that I was on the program and I have gained all the weight back plus some. I still have pain in my right side under my rib and sometimes think it is my liver …. I have been on Slim 4 Life for a while now and have lost 25 lb. The pills, boosts, and shakes make me sick with gas and pains every day. You need to have sometime to report to and get weighed — otherwise you will cheat.

I was having a heart attack. Your new family room is absolutely gorgeous! This might be the answer to pricey wood flooring that wood never match up to the original stain anyway!

I never would have thought plywood would look that good! Thanks so much for linking up to Frugal Crafty Home! Thanks for linking up last week at the Humble Brag.

Also the Silhouette Cameo giveaway ends this weekend! Seriously — I want to come over and gush over how amazing it looks in person. Thanks for coming by. Please come back soon! I just posted our in-progress plank ceiling in our dining room and I swear, as we were nailing it up Sunday night, I said to my husband, this would be pretty cool as wood flooring. A genius idea to get the look of hardwood floors without the insane cost.

Thanks for coming by! Just showed my fiance, going to ask him to do this. I was just wondering, how large was your room that you did? Thank you so much! My husband tries to ban me from reading blogs because it means more work for him!! I love getting ideas from blogland! Good luck on your floors! Your floor looks beautiful!! I have a question, though. Did you leave any sort of gap to allow for expansion and contraction of the wood?

I would love to do this, but worry about that. Some of the gaps are a bit bigger and some are smaller because some of the pieces were not perfectly straight. I think the bigger gaps give it a little characeter. So far, the floors are still absolutely beautiful! This tutorial can be really helpful for installing plywood flooring, it sure looks easy after reading the above post but i am sure you must be knowledgeable enough to do this without any mistakes.

Your floors are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!!!! Question, how long did this take you both, did I read that you did it over a week-end? Just wondering about applying the Poly, etc…timeframe estimates. It took us about three days ALL day. We put the poly on, waited four hours, light sanding, put coat 2 on, waited four hours, then we put four more coats on sanding lightly before the last coat.

It monotonous but so worth it!! If you want to take a great deal from this article then you have to apply these techniques to your won web site. Hi there to all, how is everything, I think every one is getting more from this web page, and your views are pleasant in favor of new viewers.

Also visit my web-site — hardwood floors. Hi there, every time i used to check web site posts here in the early hours in the break of day, since i enjoy to find out more and more. Look into my web page — treatment for toenail fungus.

I am curious about the nailing process. What size and style nails did you use, and did you stick to the pattern shown in your first diagram? Again, lovely floors and thanks! We rented a finish pneumatic nailer gun and it was a lot of fun to use! We did not fill in the nail holes. We just stained over them and I think it just adds character to the floor.

We all walk on them with bare feet and it is very smooth. We absolutely love our floors. Are you thinking of laying wood floors? It was a lot of work but oh so worth it. I really want to do every room. Hi This looks really great! I was just wondering about spaces or gaps between the plywood strips. I am just worried about dirt being trapped between the plywood planks. We tried to put nickels in between each board. Some gaps were too big for the nickels. We vacuum and it seems to do the job.

Your floors look great! I never knew plywood could look so nice! I think of plywood as being kind of soft, relative to traditional hardwood floors. Do you have more dinks, deep scratches, etc. With kids and a dog, they are still looking great! I really want to stain all my light oak floors the same dark stain as my family room.

Hi Linda, I love this idea! Do you have any pictures of the nailed down ends close up? Wondering how it looks.

Also did you use a sander? We love our floors. They are holding up very well. I do not have a close up of the nails. If you send me your e-mail I can send a picture to you. We bought A grade plywood that did not need to be sanded.

We did do a light sanding after installation before staining. We did that with a hand sander. We just butted each board against the previous board and nailed it down. So far it is holding up well. I think my favorite part is that your whole family works on these projects together.

Have a great Christmas! Hi Linda I love the floor, and after laying to hardwood floors for my parents and knowing the cost, even doing the work myself, I love the idea of the plywood floors, I'm cureently building a small cabin up behind my parents house, for when I visit, and was considering hardwood floors, expensive, lol, then I came across your blog and love the floors, but after doing numerious google searches I can't seem to find a good how to on staining the plywood, What stain did you use, oil or water based and same for condioner and poly coat.

We absolutely love them and they are holding up so well. Then we used Minwax Red Mahogany water based stain. I just put it on with a clean cloth and my husband followed behind wiping the excess off. The polyurethane was Varathane water based. We brushed on six coats. Let me know if I can answer any more questions. Good luck with your floors.

OMG I love your floor! Also did you sand the cut edges before laying floor and did you glue them to the subfloor before nailing them into place? Did you nail them at a angel or straight into the floor? Do you think this would work for countertops as well giving them a sort of butcherblock look?

We did not sand the cut edges. We do glue to the subfloor before we nailed. Nailed them straight in. Not sure about the countertops. Your floor is incredible! I think your answer is really splendid.

LOVE the way it looks. I truly appreciate you getting all over off that floor!!! The only thing we would have done differently is we would have to cut the plywood with a table saw instead of the circular saw we had at the time. We bought a table saw later and life would have been so much easier and the cuts would have been perfectly straight!!

We have small gaps but I can honestly say there has been no problem whatsoever. So happy we did it!!! I love the look of this! Just one quick question…what was the foam insulation board on the materials list used for?

I don't see it anywhere in the instructional section. We love our floors! The foam insulation board was used to support the plywood sheets while we were cutting them. In your pattern diagram in step 5 — was there a reason you did not alternate the short pieces from one side of the room to the other rather than having long boards all on one side of the room?

Also, the board lengths do not seem to all add up to 19'. You have explained in more detailed. Thank you for that. And did I understand right you had to stain asap. Anything and how long have you have them now wear and tear. Any upkeep things I need to know.
